What does it mean when a yacht is refitted?

We offer a one-stop-shop level of service & have the expertise to address any issue you may wish to address. We can offer the full package, but all of our projects are bespoke to our clients who decide the work content. In a ‘tongue & cheek’ way – we like to say that the only restrictions are budget & imagination.

For ease, to list a few – full interior & exterior refurbishment includes but not limited to – upholstery, navigation, lighting, audio & visual, electronics, engineering, teak decks, interior & exterior painting, engine services, engine replacement, air-conditioning, accessories packages, general maintenance (anti foul etc) and much more.

SETAG offers both aesthetic and engineering refits, providing comprehensive refurbishment services.

How often does a yacht need a refit?

How often do you update your house? The concept is the same. We have refitted a brand new yacht straight from factory – updating the upholstery to a bespoke design, to a 1990s Hunton.

A refit is not just a solution to your challenges – but instead it’s protecting your investment. A sensible way of buying, instead of solving a challenge once you’ve bought it. Why compromise? Why live with the previous owners tastes & specification when the ultimate level of luxury is personalisation. That’s what a genuine refit should be about: the opportunity to stamp your character and taste on not just your most prized possession, but something that ought to feel like a home from home.

Is Princess a good yacht brand?

Perhaps we are bias because most of our team’s background is from Princess, but we believe they are a very good yacht brand yes, for many reasons. They are beautifully designed, very good sea going boats and you can trust in their capabilities. That being said, if you purchase a yacht with a good structural base & an up-to-date service history, everything else can be updated – so we say you need a good donor boat & the rest can be SETAG’d.

Princess Yachts vs Sunseeker: what is the difference?

These two brands are targeting different audiences. Princess are targeting a more traditional crowd, whereas Sunseeker is geared towards the high-performance crowd. Ultimately, the decision comes down to personal taste, with each brand promising an exceptional boating experience.

However, our refitting expertise can be applied to any motorboat brand and can therefore be transformed into a customised yacht.

How much does a Princess Yacht refit cost?

A refit by SETAG is there to add value. It should be a way to future-proof your yacht and make it reflect your taste, personality and needs.

It is near impossible to say a figure as the individual project costs vary depending on the scope of the work content and materials selected by the client. However, the cost of any work is justified by the proportionally far larger increase it adds to the value of the vessel.
